ALAN R. ROTHSTEIN is a member of the State Bar of California, the San Mateo County Bar Association, the Bar Association of San Francisco, and the North San Mateo County Bar Association.



Regularly serves as a pro tem judge in the Family Law Department of the San Mateo County Superior Court and in the general civil and small claims departments of the SanMateo County Municipal Court.

Periodically serves as a settlement judge in the Family Law Department of the San Francisco Superior Court.

Periodically hears labor disputes as a labor arbitrator on the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service panel of arbitrators and on the California State Mediation and Conciliation Service panel of neutrals.

Arbitrator of civil disputes referred by the Federal District Court in San Francisco and by the Unified Court in San Mateo County.

Arbitrates medical claims as a member of the Kaiser-Permanente arbitration panel.
